‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Trailer Premieres At SDCC

by Rob BogganJuly 23, 2016

Season 6 of AMC’s The Walking Dead ended with one of the biggest cliffhangers in TV history. Having finally met up with the biggest threat they’ve faced yet, Rick and gang find themselves at the wrong end of a certain barbed wire bat, moments away from a massive loss from the group. The cast and crew of The Walking Dead shared their experiences from the first half of filing, but more importantly shared the first official trailer from Season 7. The trailer starts off with images of everyone at the end of Negan’s bat along with some of their most pivotal moments from the show so far. We then move to see some people being led through the city held captive by men on a horse, which leads me to assume this is most certainly Carol and Morgan on their way to The Kingdom. Dwight is telling a gentleman whom he has held at gunpoint that “everything is (Negan’s) or will be.” That’s when we get to see Negan taking that first sickening swing, caving in the skull of his target. There’s plenty of visual clues scattered throughout the trailer, and even more action on display. The biggest moment from the trailer comes at the hands of the revelation of Ezekiel AND his super badass non-human companion, Shiva.

Greg Nicotero and the cast promised that this season will lead into the biggest conflict since Terminus. They also unanimously declared that the Season 7 premiere will not only be worth it, but it’ll rip your heart right out of your chest. I’m still a bit torn on who I think was on the receiving end of a Negan sized beat down, but if I had to guess, I’d say it was either one of the Rhee’s. Glenn seems all too obvious, while Maggie would be the perfect way to really kick the intro to Negan off with a bang. The Walking Dead returns to AMC Sunday, October 23rd. Check out the San Diego Comic Con trailer for season 7 of The Walking Dead below, and let us know who you think got the bat in the comments!
