Following yesterday’s early trailer leak, we now have the full trailer from Star Wars: Battlefront II. The trailer is jam-packed with action and confirms that the main story will span a thirty year time frame. The game’s campaign mode will focus on Iden Versio, leader of an Imperial Inferno Squad. She’ll come across many of the Star Wars franchises biggest character in a story about revenge, betrayal, and redemption. That description sounds totally like someone may be having a change of heart after thirty years on the dark side, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
The multiplayer mode is getting a pretty solid overhaul as well. EA and Dice worked diligently to answer fans concerns from the previous Battlefront game. For starters, it appears there will be both offline AND online co-op, this time around. One of my biggest beefs with the original Battlefront was that I couldn’t play online with a friend in the same household. I love having the ability to team with a friend locally, and to not have that ability was a sore spot for me. In addition to split-screen co-op, players will also gain the ability to take all of their unlocks and customizations online with them. Game modes will be added and players will be able to engage in massive battles with up to 25 players online.
The game also promises players will be able to play as, or against characters from all three Star Wars eras. This means characters like Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, and Rey will all be playable characters in this installment. In fact, Kylo Ren is the main character spotted in all pre-order materials, and he’ll no doubt be one of the most popular characters to play as. Star Wars: Battlefront II launches on November 17th, 2017 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
