The Justice League Trailer Finally Debuts During Comic Con

Warner Bros. treated fans to a screening of the Justice League trailer at Comic Con. During a panel in Hall H, director Zack Snyder introduced the trailer, which took many by surprise. This marks the first time we’ll get to see the next phase of DC Heroes in action, especially all together. The trailer features Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) being recruited by Batman himself. While there’s been no word yet on a villain, rumors are suggesting Steppenwolf will fill that void.

There was also news that Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the film. This comes off as a surprise considering where we last seen supes in Batman V Superman. Either way, his inclusion is a very big deal, that instantly upgrades the story here. Lately, DC movies have caught a ton of flack due to their dark nature and tone. The Justice League movie will aim to end that, as the trailer was chock full of jokes and light humor. Batman jokingly says to Aquaman, “I hear you can talk to fish” while also stating the obvious to Flash later in the trailer.

While comedy will certainly help the movie, it definitely won’t save it. Zack Snyder and co. will have to work overtime to make sure they tell a great story. In both Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman, the story seemed to drag on forever, with many lapses in actual action. By the time the movie really got going, audiences simply stopped caring. Justice League will need to walk that fine line between story and action in order to be welcomed into the realm of great hero movies.

Justice League will hit theaters  in late 2017, following the debut of Wonder Woman in June 2017. Check out the official trailer from Comic Con below:
