Four months ago I received the beautiful quartz grey ZTE Axon 7 from Newegg. Since then, I have been using the Axon as my daily driver. When I first decided to order the phone I was sceptical due to some of my poor experiences with the ZTE brand. The marketing, build, tech and the 2 year warranty persuaded me to give it a try and I am a huge fan of this phone. I would like to share my experience of using the ZTE Axon for the last four months.
The body of the Axon held up surprisingly well over these last 4 months. Since I received the phone, I have exclusively used the clear case that was packaged with it. The case is thin and incredibly flexible, but it’s managed to keep [...]
LG has been a company of hits and misses as of late. They have been able to continually move the needle in regards to phone design and innovation. Their devices are usually up to par with the design standards of both Samsung and Apple. In fact, they have been responsible for some of the coolest designs from the past 3 years. Despite all this, LG has failed to climb into the “top spot” or even close to it amongst smartphone buyers. With the disastrous launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, LG was presented with a golden opportunity. With the G5 struggling to steal the spotlight from the iPhone, and Galaxy S7 LG had to switch gears to garner affection from a different [...]

Nexus devices were generally considered the gold standard for Android phones and set the tone for the next wave of devices. The one drawback to the Nexus program was always that Google didn’t directly influence the design of these devices. In fact, each device was manufactured by one of Android’s prominent hardware partners. HTC, Samsung, LG, Motorola, and finally Huawei all got their chance to make a Nexus device, but none of them really perfected Google’s vision of a truly ‘Google Phone.’ Enter the Google Pixel, a phone marketed to be [...]
It’s that magical time of year again. The time where Apple graces us with their latest Jesus phone and sets the tech world on its ear. The release of the iPhone 7 couldn’t have come at a better time, as Samsung is currently embattled in a PR nightmare over their Galaxy Note 7. Samsung issued a voluntary global recall of the Note 7 after several customers complained of the device exploding while charging. Taking the high road, Apple never took a shot at Samsung during their press conference, they instead focused on everything new with iPhone.
Verizon Wireless hooked me up with a review unit, which ironically arrived the very day the iPhone 7 launched. Seeing [...]
